Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire - Holdable Items

Not consumed

  • Choice Band - Holder's Attack is multiplied by 1.5. Holder can't choose any move for use other than the first move it used while it was holding this item and since holder became active and which is not Mimic, Sketch, or Transform. (Using Trick resets the affected move for its opponent. Using Trick resets the affected move for its user only if it held no item or a different item from the item gained. If the holder gains this item after using Trick or Thief and didn't hold that item previously, it doesn't become the first move used this way. This item ignores moves used by other moves.)
  • Macho Brace - Halves holder's Speed. The Pokemon earns twice the normal amount of Effort Values in battle (see Effort Values).
  • Shell Bell - Whenever a non-holder loses HP due to an attack by holder, holder recovers 1/8 of that HP.
  • Focus Band - If an attack by non-holders would reduce user's HP to less than 1, its damage may be changed so that it reduces holder's HP to 1 instead (10% chance)

  • Soothe Bell - Increases happiness faster.
  • King's Rock - If holder uses certain moves (those with flag "f" in the attack list, the opponent may flinch (10% chance). This is considered an additional effect for the purposes of Shield Dust, but not for the purposes of Serene Grace. (Prevented by Substitute.)
  • Amulet Coin - If holder participated in winning a trainer battle, the player earns twice more money than usual. (This effect is not cumulative.)

Enigma Berry Forms

The name of the Enigma Berry is unimportant for the game's purposes; it instead focuses on the Berry's "subnumber". Normal Enigma Berries are named "ENIGMA" and have a subnumber of 0.

  • Form 3: When holder is asleep.
  • Form 5: When holder is burned. (KUO)
  • Form 6: When holder is frozen. (PUMKIN)
  • Form 8: When holder is confused. (TOUGA)
  • Form 23: When a stat stage becomes less than 0, all stat stages less than 0 become 0. (GINEMA)
  • Form 28: When holder is in love. (EGGANT)
  • Form 4: When holder is poisoned. (DRASH)

A Pokemon with an Enigma Berry cannot be traded in the third generation. Special forms of an Enigma Berry become a normal Enigma Berry when migrated to the fourth generation.
