This Glossary was created to explain terms used in the In-Depth Guides.
- Stat Exp
- a value from 0 to 65,025 that determines the amount
of training a Pokémon has done.
- Stat Points
- a value derived from Stat Exp that, along with
level, helps determine the stats of the Pokémon.
- wild battle
- any battle against a wild Pokemon.
- internal battle
- any battle with a wild Pokemon (a wild battle), or with an in-game trainer (a trainer battle). In internal battles, the player's Pokemon gain experience for defeating enemy Pokemon.
- external battle
- a trainer battle that takes place outside the game or in an organized setting. External battles normally include link battles, battles in Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, and trainer battles in the Battle Tower.
- round
- a part of a battle containing the result of decisions made by each player.
- turn
- A Pokemon's turn, part of a round, is the result of the choices made at the beginning of the round. This usually involves the Pokemon's use of an attack.
- wild
- refers to a Pokémon with a Stat Exp of 0.
- Accuracy
- a rating (usually a percentage) that a Pokemon has
that affects how likely attacks can hit the Pokemon.
- evasion
- a rating that affects the opponent's accuracy of
attacks.
- stat stage
- holdable item
- any item that, when held by a Pokémon,
comes in effect during battle.
