You may have heard about the Pokémon card game released by Wizards of the Coast. In Japan, that card game has become so popular that it has been released as a Gameboy Color title, Pokémon Card GB (known as Pokémon Trading Card Game in English). Of course the Gameboy version has added a few things to make one-player gaming a little more interesting, but other than that it's pretty much Pokémon TCG. Your goal is to become a Pokémon Card Master by defeating others in Pokémon Clubs around the Pokémon TCG map. Look for Dr. Mason to help you out when you begin playing.

There are over 200 cards featuring Pokémon from the Red, Blue, and Yellow versions. There are also 18 cards exclusively for the video game and cannot be found outside in stores.

You may use a link up with another person to play cards using a Link Cable.

The cards in the game are slightly different from the U.S. cards, but are similar enough to understand and use. Your first duel is also a tutorial for those of you who have not had the chance to play the Pokemon Trading Card Game. The strategy is easy to pick up, yet challenging to master so there should be a good deal of replay value to the game.
