Tips and Tricks

These are several tips and strategies for playing Pokémon Puzzle Challenge.

Turbo mode

Turn on the game, then immediately press B, A, Left, Left when Pikachu smiles at the opening screen. A sound will confirm correct code entry. The game speed in marathon mode may now be increased up to 99.
S-Hard mode
Select challenge mode in a one player game, where you battle the Gym leaders. At the difficulty selection screen, select "Hard", and hold Select and press A. A new "S-Hard" mode will appear, allowing the game to be played at a super hard difficulty.
Additional Options
Press Select + A at the Options screen to get these options:

Grbg Lim I don't know what this setting is for. On by default.
Slow Lvl Sets the speed for the Practice mode. From 1 to 3. Default is 2.
Score Col I don't know what this setting is for. 5 or 6. Default is 5.
Scroll I don't know what this setting is for. Off by default.
PKMN Cry Specifies whether the Pokemon's cry will be heard when making a Combo or Chain. On by default. If off, a generic sound is used instead.
MUSIC Toggles whether you will hear music. On by default.
SOUNDS Toggles whether you will hear sounds. On by default.
